If you are encountering software errors with Ultimaker Cura you may be asked for log files by our support representatives. These log files contain important information from which can help deduce what is going wrong within the system.
For crashes and similar issues, please share the following information:
- DirectX diagnostics (Windows only): Go to 'Start', in the search box type 'dxdiag' and hit enter. In the dxdiag dialog, click 'save all information' in the bottom right corner. More information here.
- The Cura GUI log file. Open a 'explorer' or 'finder' window on your computer, and navigate to the folder located at:
%APPDATA%\cura\<Cura version>\cura.log, or
C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Roaming\cura\<Cura version>\cura.log
Note: The folder AppData is hidden! Ensure to 'view hidden folders'.
$HOME/Library/Application Support/cura/<Cura version>/cura.log
Note: The folder 'Library' is hidden! In finder select 'Go' and hold the 'option' key, to easily view the library folder.
- Ubuntu / Linux:
Save the 'cura.log' file and share it accordingly.
Tip: If the Cura user interface still starts, you can also reach this directory from the application menu in Help -> Show settings folder.
