The MAC address of the printer is assigned when connected to a network. The simplest way to view the MAC address is to connect to a network, and view it by navigating to the network menu on your printers display.
The MAC address is obtained from the network connectivity type. If the printer is connected via Ethernet, the MAC address is the same as the UUID of the printer. If the printer is connected via Wi-Fi the MAC address is taken from the Wi-Fi chip. The MAC address of a machine cannot be changed.
The MAC address of an ethernet connected device is the same as the letter / number sequence at the end of the hostname.
We do not have any control over the Wi-Fi MAC addresses, as they are uniquely programmed by the supplier and automatically assigned when connected to the network.
