The UltiMaker S6 is delivered in durable packaging, specifically designed to protect your 3D printer. Follow the steps below to properly unpack your new UltiMaker printer. Please retain all packaging materials for warranty purposes.

Caution: The UltiMaker S6 must be lifted by at least two people during unboxing and installation.

Tip: It is recommended to remove the packaging materials with the box placed on the floor.

Unboxing steps

1. Clips
Remove the four plastic locking clips at the bottom of the box. Do not cut open the box at the top.

 

2. Outer sleeve
Slide the outer box straight upward off the printer and place it aside.

 

3. Accessories
Remove the cardboard tray with accessories and materials from the top of the printer.
4. Foam
Remove the protective foam parts from the top of the printer.		5. Bottom tray
Lift the printer out of the bottom tray. This must be done by at least two people.		6. Installation surface
Temporarily place the printer on the floor, or directly onto its installation surface.

Note: The installation surface must be flat, level, stable, and capable of carrying the printer's weight. If the UltiMaker S6 will be used in combination with the Material Station, you can install the UltiMaker S6 directly on the Material Station, or temporarily place it on a desk first to remove the other packaging materials.

7. Door seals
Open the glass doors to remove the rubber door seals from the edges of the door panels.		8. Cable tie
Use wire cutters to remove the cable tie that secures the print head in the front-right corner.		9. Display film
Remove the protective film from the touchscreen display.

Notes:

  1. The print cores are already installed in the print head.
  2. The spool holder and anti-slip feet are not required in combination with the Material Station.
  3. The flexible build plate is already installed on the Z stage; the glass build plate is included with the accessories and must be installed before first use of the printer.
